Initiatives
Exhibitions and Curation: The foundation collaborates with major art museums, institutions, and galleries to organize exhibitions that bring Hunt's work to new national and global audiences. With expert knowledge of Hunt's art and life, we also assist with exhibition catalogues and supplemental exhibition materials.
Scholarship: The foundation is dedicated to preserving the historical accuracy of Richard Hunt's art and life through deep research and scholarship. We collaborate with curators, writers, and art historians to educate the public on Hunt's place in art history.
Archives: Partnering with the Getty Research Institute, the foundation is engaged in a comprehensive effort to inventory, document, and digitize Hunt's extensive body of work, including thousands of studio works (sculpture and works on paper), more than 160 public commissions, and personal archives, including an extensive repository of archival photographs.
Awards and Fellowships: In partnership with two Chicago organizations, the foundation established a biennial sculpture award and an annual printmaking fellowship to provide financial support and visibility to emerging or mid-career sculptors and artists.
Educational Outreach: The foundation is the steward of the story of Hunt's life and career, shared through our growing collaborations and through platforms such as Bloomberg Connects.
Catalogue Raisonné: A long-term initiative for the foundation involves compiling a comprehensive catalogue raisonné of all of Hunt's artworks.
